On October 7, 2025, the Carstairs & Community Chamber of Commerce hosted the 2025 Municipal Election Open Forum at the Carstairs Community Hall.
The goal was simple: give our community a chance to meet the candidates running for Mayor, Council, and School Board Trustee, hear their plans, and ask questions about the future of our town.
We had strong community engagement, with 160 attending in person and 83 joining online.
Thank you to John Cole from the Carstairs Heritage Museum for moderating, Dr. Bell Brioux Jollymore, LLB for keeping time, and the Carstairs Public Library for the tech that made live streaming possible.
To our incredible volunteers — we couldn’t have pulled this off without your support and guidance. And to our Chamber Board for leading the charge and every candidate for showing up and engaging in meaningful dialogue, thank you.
Events like this are a cornerstone of our advocacy work. We’re committed to strengthening relationships with the Town of Carstairs and continuing important conversations that drive our community forward.
Your town. Your voice. Your future.
Local decisions about housing, growth, roads, education, and services affect every resident and business in Carstairs. The forum was designed to give everyone a chance to engage directly with the people who want to represent them.
We ensured:
Equal time for every candidate
Local issues stayed the focus
A respectful, inclusive discussion
Candidate introductions and opening remarks
Community-submitted questions
Timed responses and closing statements
